The class 25 locomotives, also known as Sulzer Type 2's were built in the UK from 1961 to 1967
These locomotives were primarily designed for freight work, but also conducted some passenger hauling. In the 1970s they could be seen across almost the whole BR Network. Best known for their use on summer Saturday trains to Aberystwyth until 1984.
The model is powered by 24V and is powered by four motors. We are expecting these engines to arrive shortly, so more information will come soon!
EXTRA FEATURES IN THE MTS VERSION
The Maxitrak engines supplied by Mini Train Systems are fitted with a number of extra features to improve driver convenience and comply with Australian standards (AS3533). MTS engines are tested and warranted for 12 months against defects in materials or labour. These engines feature:
- Key operated disable switch
- Power connector for driving car mounted battery
- 'Break away' disable feature
- Improved Hand Held tether control.
- MTS MU (Multiple Unit) Control System. This enables two or more engines to be coupled together and driven by the one driver. Power and control jumper cables link the locos together. Compatible with all MTS MU engines.
