A total of 2,366 cab-equipped lead A-units and 1,483 cabless booster or B-units were built by EMD from 1949, and was part of a long series of F type diesels. These engines were economical to operate and maintain and were extensively used for freight and passenger services. The model accurately represents the full size locomotive, with a wealth of detail on bogies, chassis and body. This includes springs, glazed windows/windscreens, headlamp, handrails, number boards, exhaust and cooling vents. Both the A and B(cabless) units are available, with four motors each. and either independant or shared control systems. Ask us for more info on a B unit. EXTRA FEATURES IN THE MTS VERSION The Maxitrak engines supplied by Mini Train Systems are fitted with a number of extra features to improve driver convenience and comply with Australian standards (AS3533).
